Project News
Homeopathy Action Trust has recently made its largest project donation to date thanks to a generous legacy.
The Fibromyalgia syndrome pilot project supported by the rheumatology department at Barnsley hospital, will build on the promising results of a previous trial, also funded by Homeopathy Action Trust two years ago.
Jackie Raw and Clare Walters, both registered members of the Society of Homeopaths, will continue their involvement in the project, working closely with NHS staff.
Jackie said ‘We are absolutely thrilled to receive the support of the Trust. It is hugely encouraging to represent homeopathy within the National Health Service by such positive means.’
Jim Rogers RSHom and HAT Trustee commented ‘This application fulfils major objectives of HAT in terms of contributing to the development of high quality research and also in offering treatment to those with chronic problems who may otherwise not access homeopathy’.
Additionally a substantial grant has been awarded to ‘Attention Fife’, a Scottish charity, for a low cost homeopathy clinic for children with ADHD, involving Society registered member Jenny Livingstone, and coordinated by Barbara Naumann MARH.
Mary Clarke, Executive Director of HAT explains ‘We were able to make this award from a specific mental health fund within HAT, and will be involved in monitoring and evaluation, an area of great importance to HAT funded projects. We hope as many practitioners and their patients as possible join HAT so that we may be able to keep up our active support of patients, practitioners and students’.
