Natural Calm
Natural Calm was an innovative but temporary service funded by HAT and the Youth Opportunity Fund. It provided homeopathy and natural health mentoring to all 16-25 year olds living on the Isle of Wight who wanted to receive a holistic, complementary approach – ‘Natural Calm’ – to help them cope better with stress.
All but one of the residents had problems with alcohol or drugs, many came from seriously disadvantaged backgrounds, and most had difficult home lives or were estranged from their families.
The lead homeopath on the project, Maeve Smith, reported that “ Despite these challenges, all but one from this group found the ‘Natural Calm’ process helpful to some degree according to their MYMOP questionnaires (Measure Yourself Medical Outcome Profile).”
